Position Overview

  • The Nurse Manager will utilize their knowledge, skills, and expertise to effectively oversee the daily operations of the clinical unit while ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and objectives.
  • The Nurse Manager will be accountable for:
  • Facilitating successful unit-based throughput efforts by managing timely bed assignments, ensuring equitable, safe, and balanced clinical workloads for all team members.
  • Utilizing all available resources efficiently and responsibly to support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Identifying, implementing, and endorsing evidence-based interventions aimed at optimizing input, throughput, and output processes.
  • Fostering staff engagement by serving the unit with consistency, support, compassion, and care.
  • Ensuring appropriate allocation of clinical resources through proactive planning while demonstrating the ability to address urgent and emergent clinical needs safely and effectively.
  • Acting as a role model and mentor, empowering clinical staff to devise innovative solutions to meet patient needs while ensuring they receive the necessary support to practice within their full clinical scope.
  • Encouraging the clinical team to implement successful evidence-based practice changes to address improvement opportunities identified through quality and performance enhancement initiatives.
  • Overseeing the delivery of quality patient care by coordinating organizational priorities under the guidance of the Clinical Director, and assisting in the coordination of interdepartmental activities to ensure effective, cost-efficient patient care.
  • Leading collaborative efforts among inter-professional care teams to achieve optimal clinical outcomes for all patients.
  • Identifying and supporting elements that enhance care quality, including improvements in nursing-sensitive care quality indicators, effective care coordination, and the prevention of potential errors.
Experience Required

  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care environment.
  • At least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience.
Education Requirements

  • Graduation from an NLN accredited nursing program.
  • BSN required; MSN preferred or in progress within 6-12 months of hire.
License/Certification Requirements

  • Current New Jersey RN license.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • CNL or AACN Specialty certification preferred.
