Professional Development Specialist RN

Swedish Health Services is seeking a skilled Professional Development Specialist RN to join our team. As a key member of our clinical education team, you will play a vital role in developing and improving the competency of clinical care providers, staff clinical skills, and expertise on all shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the clinical educational needs of staff
  • Use multiple resources to assess the learning needs of staff and assist them in developing a personal professional growth plan
  • Plan and operationalize educational activities to meet the educational needs of staff and provide individualized and group activities to support growth in clinical expertise based on research and evidence-based knowledge
  • Use appropriate tools to measure the adequacy of learning and absorption/application of information and remediates as necessary
  • Assist staff in planning for formal educational growth opportunities, such as going back to school, attending conferences, etc.
  • Deliver learning materials for specific educational activities using theory and practical considerations
  • Review materials before utilization for adequacy, accuracy, currency, and evidence-based knowledge
  • Evaluate learning materials for inclusion and utilization for education needs both for individuals and groups
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • ~ 3 years of experience in nursing leadership including clinical experience in associated service line area
  • Certification in service area and/or nursing professional development (NPD-BC)
