About the Role

The Data Governance and Management Specialist will play a critical role in developing and implementing procedures for effective data management across the organization. This position requires strong communication skills and a proactive approach to work seamlessly with various teams to ensure the adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-screen and review data to identify content of value, assign priority, level of effort, and triage for the ETL team
  • Identify risks and devise mitigation plans to prevent project schedule impacts
  • Ensure established data governance processes and procedures for data sharing
  • Manage multiple high-priority tasks concurrently in a dynamic environment
  • Collaborate with customers to resolve issues impacting data governance
  • Develop and maintain metrics and quad charts detailing project status for branch projects
  • Facilitate acceptance of changes amongst the ingestion branch and data governance teams as the Division transitions to new workflows
  • Ability to brief senior Sponsor management and document new processes as new work demands
  • Schedule, attend, and conduct technical meetings on behalf of the Branch
Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with full scope poly
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree plus six years of directly related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in building, collaborating, and managing constructive relationships across organizational boundaries
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate highly complex, mission-critical ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge and use of AWS and S3
  • Experience with Python and using it to cleanse data
  • Ability to assess and prioritize data based on mission value
  • Knowledge of data management systems for bulk data
  • Knowledge of flow of raw data in processing pipelines
  • Familiarity with engineering large-scale data acquisition, cleansing, transforming, and processing of structured and unstructured data
  • Familiarity with policies and regulations impacting collection and use of data
Desired Qualifications
  • ETL experience
  • Experience with advanced data analysis methods to enrich data and connect the dots of vast digital data to piece together a story of what is happening around the world
  • Experience with advanced exploitation tools that turn data into actionable intelligence for thousands of IC users
  • Knowledge of systems, tools, and applications that allow targeters and analysts to leverage data (and find actionable intelligence)
  • Apply expertise with additional scripting tools (i.e. Jupiter, PostgresSQL, etc) to cleanse data
  • Knowledge of customer-specific data transfer officer requirements
