This role is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity.

The Mechanical Project Supervisor will oversee, coordinate, and manage mechanical projects that necessitate a consistent on-site presence, a considerable amount of subcontracted work, and/or collaboration with a General Contractor. The goal is to manage the project lifecycle effectively to deliver profitable outcomes with high-quality execution, ensuring customer retention post-project as a service agreement client. It is anticipated that a significant portion of the assigned projects will be located in the metro area, with additional projects potentially in surrounding regions (a company vehicle will be provided).

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Project Supervisor:

Customer Engagement: Promptly address customer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently while fostering and maintaining customer trust.

  1. Serve as the primary on-site contact for project activities, coordinating with General Contractors, subcontractors, and project operations teams as necessary.
  2. Notify the Service Manager of any customer requests or satisfaction concerns that cannot be addressed by the Mechanical Project Supervisor.
  3. Maintain clear and timely communication with internal stakeholders (sales representatives, service personnel, accounting, etc.) to ensure a seamless project experience for clients.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  1. Effectively communicate and document project status (internally and externally), required assistance, and significant client interactions.
  2. Be accessible to team members and clients throughout the project via on-site visits, phone, text, and email.
  3. Discuss with the Service Manager any items outside of project scope and/or potential change orders.
  4. Provide on-site coordination for subcontractors, ensuring scope fulfillment, collaboration with other trades, and adherence to safety protocols.
  5. Actively participate in regular project meetings from initiation to client close-out, providing updates on work progress, customer feedback, field relations, and other matters impacting service operations.
  6. Build and maintain productive working relationships with management, supervisors, field personnel, subcontractors, and administrative staff.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Under the guidance of the Service Manager, ensure the timely and budget-compliant completion of the entire project scope.
  2. Establish job priorities and plan project activities in collaboration with the Service Manager and Project Coordinator to meet critical milestones.
  3. Manage assigned projects within planned costs by effectively overseeing materials, tools, labor, and subcontractors.
  4. Coordinate with General Contractors to ensure all required timelines, milestones, and project completion goals are met.
  5. Handle all administrative tasks throughout the project, including RFIs, change orders, billings, and lien releases.
  6. Manage project timelines, proactively identify potential issues, develop solutions, and communicate with all stakeholders.
  7. Possess a solid understanding of mechanical systems, building control systems, relevant mechanical/electrical codes, and OSHA standards.

Professional Development:

  1. Assist the Service Manager with construction budgets, including labor, subcontracts, and material/equipment procurement.
  2. Stay updated on technical knowledge related to equipment and concepts.
  3. Become familiar with new products and techniques as they emerge.
  4. Engage with technical organizations to enhance knowledge.

Staff Development:

  1. Support the Service Manager in ensuring the technical capabilities of the field team align with current contractual commitments. Identify and recommend training to enhance individual and team skills.
  2. Promote professionalism and pride to attract high-quality talent. Maintain a network of contacts.
  3. Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations, including company policies, contracting requirements, and applicable codes and guidelines.

Qualifications for the Mechanical Project Supervisor:
