Radiation Therapist

Trinity Health is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at St. Mary Medical Center. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our radiation oncology department.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply ionizing radiation to patients according to physician prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of treatment records.
- Assess patient condition from medical documentation and observe patients for unusual reactions resulting from treatment.
- Explain treatment procedures to patients in a sensitive and compassionate manner.
- Participate in simulation and mold room procedures, ensuring accurate and efficient treatment delivery.
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate records of treatment sessions.
- Understand dosimetry procedures and perform basic treatment time calculations.
- Participate in radiation oncology quality assessment and improvement activities, contributing to the development of best practices.
- Prepare room and equipment for patients according to prescriptions, ensuring proper immobilization devices and treatment parameters.
- Monitor equipment for established parameter tolerances, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Assess complexity of procedures for billing purposes, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement.
- Maintain and summarize patient monthly statistics, providing valuable insights for quality improvement initiatives.
- ARRT Registered, RRT & Technical School/1 Year College
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree & 2-4 years experience
