Radiation Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at the New York Proton Center. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing direct patient care utilizing proton radiation therapy.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accurate and precise treatment delivery and data capture.
- Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in daily activities involving treatment delivery and simulation procedures.
- Review all setup instructions, radiation prescriptions, consents, treatment plans, and any other documentation related to treatment delivery.
- Explain treatment processes to patients in a clear and concise manner that promotes understanding.
- Answer patient questions within the scope of practice of the Radiation Therapist.
- Visually monitor patients during treatment and simulation, and document accordingly.
- Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures, and serve as a role model for others.
- Adapt to changes in work schedule or assigned area as patient load dictates.
- Graduate of a JCERT-accredited program in radiation therapy or a suitable equivalent.
- Certified and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy or ARRT Board exam eligible.
- Licensed by the New York State Department of Health as a radiologic technologist or eligible.
- Certified in Basic Life Support/CPR.
- One year of experience as a Radiation Therapy Technologist preferred, but not required.
