Radiation Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in administering radiation therapy to patients and performing technical tasks associated with tumor localization.
Responsibilities- Deliver therapeutic radiation in accordance with prescriptions and instructions provided by Radiation Oncologists.
- Check prescriptions to ensure accuracy of dosage and eliminate errors.
- Take and interpret port-images to determine accuracy and ensure images are reviewed and approved by Radiation Oncologists.
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patients, including immobilization devices, field parameters, and beam shaping.
- Explain procedures and set up patients for treatment.
- Observe and report changes in patients' conditions to Radiation Oncologists or radiation therapy nurses.
- Record treatment administered in patients' charts and record/verify systems.
- Perform daily QA and safety checks as required by regulations.
- Maintain equipment in safe and good working condition, reporting defects or deficiencies for adjustment and repair.
- Maintain work areas in clean and orderly condition, stocking and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school in radiation therapy.
- One year of experience in clinical therapeutic radiation therapy, with clinical rotation in approved schools considered for experience.
- NYS Radiation Therapist License.
