Gear Industry Business Developer

We are a leading US-based industrial gear and repair organization with a rich history of high-performance engineering and design capabilities. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Industrial Sales Representative to join our team at Horsburgh & Scott. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial gears and gear drives or relevant industry experience in power transmission gear applications and will be responsible for growing sales in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Sales Strategies: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets and increase market share in the region.
  • Identify New Business Opportunities: Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with potential customers.
  • Manage and Grow Existing Customer Accounts: Manage and grow existing customer accounts to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Build and Maintain Strong Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Provide Technical and Application Support: Provide technical and application support for gearing opportunities.
  • Develop and Deliver Sales Presentations: Develop and deliver sales presentations and proposals to potential customers.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Keep up to date with industry trends and competitor activities to ensure the company is well-positioned in the market.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or equivalent work experience.
  • Industry Experience: At least 5 years of experience in specific industrial gears and gear drives sales or work experience in an industrial base containing gears/gear drives.
  • Proven Track Record: Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing revenue in a designated region.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Strong Business Acumen: Strong business acumen and the ability to develop and implement sales strategies.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to Travel: Willingness to travel as required to meet with customers and attend industry events.
