Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity to work as a Financial Technician with the U.S. Pacific Fleet. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing specialized work involving administrative duties in connection with automated financial systems. Your expertise will be essential in compiling financial data for report/statistical reports, developing local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS), and using multiple automated systems such as DTS, STARS-FL, SABRS, CFMS, ERP, or NALCOMIS, and One Touch. You will also examine documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, and compliance with regulations, and perform work to establish, maintain, correct, and close pay accounts. Additionally, you will prepare, reconcile, and verify monthly bank billing statements; ensure signed receipts/invoices are filed in accordance with federal regulations. You will liaise with vendors on government delivery requirements including purchase estimates, shipping charges, and delivery dates.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be a US Citizen, determined suitable for federal employment, and participate in the direct deposit pay program. You must also be willing to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: using automated financial systems (e.g. DTS, DFAS, STARS-FL, SABRS, NALCOMIS, SLDCADA, CFMS) to record, track, analyze and reconcile financial transaction data. In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: One academic year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position.
