Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist II to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our Pulmonary Medicine department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients, including ventilator management, pulmonary function testing, and education.

Responsibilities
  1. Respiratory Care: Provide respiratory support for patients on ventilators, including monitoring, evaluating, and making clinical judgments. Implement respiratory care procedures, evaluate, and make recommendations on therapies rendered.
  2. Pulmonary Function Testing: Perform pulmonary function testing, including arterial blood gases, blood gas analysis, bedside spirometry, pulse oximetry, and titration. Troubleshoot and repair lab equipment as needed.
  3. Documentation: Accurately and timely document treatment in patient records, including treatment cards and electronic health records.
  4. Education and Training: Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on respiratory care and pulmonary function testing.
  5. Competencies: Maintain competencies in Servo i, Draeger V500, V60, AVEA, MRI-compatible ventilators, and transport ventilators.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Care Program
  • Licensure in State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
  • Minimum one year of experience
  • Maintain Registry Credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Maintain Connecticut State Licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner
Working Conditions

This is a per diem position with varying shifts, including day, night, and weekend hours. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
