Job Title: Field Service Technician

Miller Mechanical Specialties Inc., a leading manufacturer's representative partner company of Endress+Hauser Inc., is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join their team in Sioux Falls, SD.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to customers in the process industries, including power, energy, process, municipal, chemical, mining, life sciences, pharma, food and beverage, and commercial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commissioning, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of flow meters, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, chart recorders, controllers, and valves to meet customer requirements.
  • Visually inspecting, testing, and recommending changes to ensure required installation meets manufacturers' standards for operation.
  • Observing processes, applying and developing tests and procedures to detect proper or malfunctioning operation of equipment, preparing reports, and discussing findings with customers or sales representatives, making changes or adjustments to improve operation or offering a course of action to resolve problems.
  • Dismantling defective instrumentation and equipment and replacing with new or repaired parts per the manufacturers' procedures.
  • Assembling, repairing, and/or replacing related instrumentation and associated equipment.
  • Directing installers on the proper placement of equipment according to drawings and equipment manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Advising customers of proper installation requirements.
  • Conferring with other Field Service Technicians, manufacturers' representatives, and customers to diagnose instrumentation and equipment malfunctions and provide technical solutions to resolve complex instrumentation and equipment requirements.
  • Training customers' representatives on the proper use, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and equipment and preparing related materials for spare parts.
  • Traveling to customer plant locations for startup and service work.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree in a Technical Field (Preferred).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Minimum).
  • Excellent communication skills and work ethic.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience multi-tasking and balancing many priorities.
  • Computer and Microsoft Office software experience.
  • 2+ years of full-time work experience is helpful.
  • AutoCad or similar software experience would be helpful.
  • Field Experience (Preferred).
  • Instrumentation training (Preferred).
  • Calibration and/or Metrology experience (Preferred).
  • Safety credentials (Preferred).
