Join our team as a Caregiver Support Specialist at Meridian Health Services

Compensation begins at $16 per hour or higher

Work Schedule: Rotating daytime 12-hour shifts, 7 AM - 7 PM, Monday to Friday, with rotating weekend duties.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver Support Specialist to join our team at the Teabolt Residential Group Home. Your nurturing and supportive nature is essential for our residents as you help create a warm, family-like atmosphere that fosters the development of daily living skills. You will play a crucial role in encouraging our adult residents to challenge themselves and pursue active, fulfilling lives. Your commitment to holistic healthcare and community improvement will make you an invaluable member of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure 24/7 staff coverage, including flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Support residents in developing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and social skills through both individual and group interactions.
  • Monitor and assess resident behaviors, intervening as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with residents, house staff, and other team members.
  • Assist residents with menu planning and grocery shopping, including writing menus and comparing prices.
  • Assign and oversee resident tasks on a rotating basis; provide supervision, training, and assistance with ADLs.
  • Provide crisis intervention when required.
  • Manage medication packaging and monitoring.
  • Assist residents in obtaining and applying for generic benefits.
  • Maintain a structured environment in accordance with established house rules.
  • Keep accurate records (ITPs, daily logs, medication logs, and skills assessments).
  • Transport residents for community outings and appointments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 months of paid experience in behavioral healthcare or relevant college coursework in human services or health-related fields.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance are required.
  • A strong commitment to providing personalized attention to support clients in achieving their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
