About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Engineering Commissioning Manager to join our team at Abbott Laboratories. As a key member of our Global Engineering Services division, you will be responsible for providing leadership and management for the Corporate Engineering Commissioning and Validation team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multi-discipline teams in the commissioning and validation of capital projects, ensuring compliance with corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement commissioning and validation plans, schedules, and budgets for projects.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that commissioning and validation activities are aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and operations teams.
  • Provide input into the development of engineering standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements, and apply this knowledge to improve commissioning and validation processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (chemical, mechanical, electrical, civil, or architectural engineering).
  • At least 10 years of experience in the medical devices, diagnostics, or related industry, with a focus on design and construction of capital projects.
  • Project management experience, with a proven track record of managing projects through to completion.
  • Supervisory/management experience, with budget responsibility.
  • Licensed Architect, ID, or PE preferred.
  • Knowledge of Abbott Engineering standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
