About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control & Testing Engineer to join our rapidly expanding Capabilities Team at Afficiency, a rapidly growing Insurtech startup based in NYC. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our life insurance products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the quality assurance process, including requirements analysis, test plans, and reporting
  • Analyze detailed business requirement documents to design test plans and identify necessary modules
  • Manage the testing team and QA reporting, including C-suite progress reports and timelines
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases to identify potential software issues and ensure product quality
  • Conduct thorough analysis of bugs, errors, and defects, utilizing debugging tools and techniques to isolate root causes
  • Document test results and findings in clear and concise reports for the software development team
  • Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting key findings and testing progress
  • Collaborate with the development team to enhance current testing pipelines, automate test cases, and integrate testing processes into the software development lifecycle
  • Research and analyze competitor products to identify industry best practices and ensure our product remains competitive
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in quality assurance and software testing
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in developing web applications, utilizing various libraries, languages, and frameworks commonly used in web development
  • Proficiency in Selenium and relevant knowledge for automation testing
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and SQL, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in all aspects of software development and testing
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work efficiently and effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing time and tasks effectively to meet project deadlines
