Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Kumar Consulting. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our construction projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee construction consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with quality requirements
  • Review and comment on quality plans, inspection and test plans, and quality work plans
  • Perform inspection walkthroughs and provide technical recommendations
  • Attend quality work group meetings and other project meetings to plan quality events and resolve quality breakdowns
  • Monitor submission of required quality submittals and perform audits/assessments/inspections of suppliers or manufacturers
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of prior work experience in Quality Assurance, Project Management, or Construction Management
  • Hold at least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of Science or Applied Science
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365
  • Experience with the design and construction of projects around an operating railroad is highly desirable
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completed training in the principles and practices of Quality Management Systems or Quality Management System audits under a program sanctioned by a National or International Standards organization
  • Completed training in the principles and practices of Project Management or Construction Management under a program sanctioned by a National or International Standards organization
  • Training in and experience in implementing quality management systems
  • Active NYS Professional Engineering License
  • Experienced in quality control in the construction environment
Industry Experience:
  • Railroad infrastructure
  • Railroad field work practices
  • Any government-regulated industry requiring Quality Management Systems
