Procurement Specialist

The Purchasing Buyer will play a crucial role in supporting the global supply chain needs of Taro Pharmaceuticals, specifically for the Proactiv brand. This position is responsible for maintaining purchase orders (POs) for packaging suppliers and contract manufacturers, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of inventory-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage POs in SAP for finished goods and packaging materials, adhering to supply agreements with suppliers.
- Confirm receipt of POs with suppliers through EDI portal or email documentation.
- Maintain POs based on current delivery dates and quantities from updates by CMOs and packaging suppliers.
- Communicate and resolve PO-related issues, such as late delivery or minimum order quantities, with the planning team and CMO Manager.
- Troubleshoot and resolve PO receipt issues, including overages, shortages, or damages.
- Maintain accurate master data for all inventory-purchased items.
- Transact weekly consumption of packaging materials into SAP.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations with CMOs to ensure alignment between their systems and Taro Pharmaceuticals' SAP system.
- Assist the Inventory Analyst in resolving inventory discrepancies caused by EDI, ASN, receiving, or other reasons.
- Participate in relevant meetings, such as weekly update meetings with CMOs and internal cross-functional meetings.
- Complete assigned trainings and perform other duties as required by the CMO Manager or Director of Supply Chain.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
- At least two years of demonstrated procurement buying experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and project management skills.
- SAP experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong supplier management and process improvement skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong system and software skills, including intermediate Excel skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Results-focused and customer service-oriented.
