About the Role:- Employment Type: Staff
The Senior Director of Surgical Services will be responsible for the overall management and operations of Surgical Services, ensuring effective and efficient patient care. This includes promoting and enforcing departmental compliance with general safety and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Plans, directs, coordinates, and supervises the OR Clinical Director, Chief CRNA, Nurse Manager, Office Manager, Surgical Services IS Coordinator, Nurse Practitioner, Ortho-Trauma Clinical Coordinator.
- Provides direction in the development and management of personnel within responsible departments.
- Oversees Surgical Services budget development, implementation, and compliance.
- Serves as a liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and family members.
- Prepares and presents operational and financial reports/projects as required.
- Recommends pricing levels and packaging.
- Assist with managed care negotiations and development.
- Stay abreast of changes in healthcare and Surgical Services.
- Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.
- Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues.
- Master's Degree in Health Administration or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role (i.e. product line manager or executive level ambulatory care/inpatient surgery setting).
- Knowledge of physicians' referral relationships with medical community at-large.
- Working knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, goal setting, and personnel management.
- Working knowledge of computers and computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.).
