Aquatic Program Director Job Description

City of Tupelo is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatic Program Director to lead our recreational programs and aquatic operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leisure and recreation management, with a focus on aquatic programs and youth development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive aquatic program that meets the needs of our community
  • Supervise and train lifeguards and pool staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of our aquatic facilities, including maintenance and repairs
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement programs that promote community engagement and youth development
  • Prepare and manage budgets for aquatic programs and facilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Leisure and Recreation Management or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in aquatic program management or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of aquatic safety protocols and emergency procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
