Role Responsibilities:
As a Property Field Inspection Claims Specialist, you will leverage your expertise in managing accidental and weather-related claims for residential and commercial properties. You will serve as the primary contact for policyholders, clarifying coverage, estimating damages, and guiding them through the claims process while delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of property damages for both residential and commercial claims
  • Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other stakeholders to collect information and resolve claims effectively
  • Handle interactions with parties who may express strong emotions regarding ongoing inspections or claim resolutions
  • Provide outstanding customer service throughout the claims process, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly
  • Gather necessary evidence, document findings, and prepare comprehensive reports to support the claims handling process
  • Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000
  • Assess coverage and policy terms to validate claims and ensure compliance with local regulations
  • Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits, considering policy provisions and industry standards
  • While primarily field-based, there will be opportunities for remote work, and occasional travel may be required to assist in other territories
  • Flexibility in working hours is essential, as operational needs may require overtime or irregular hours

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience as a Property Field Inspection Claims Specialist in the insurance sector, particularly in property claims
  • Strong understanding of property insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of residential and commercial building construction
  • Familiarity with local regulations and compliance requirements in Texas
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage difficult conversations with a customer-focused approach
  • Strong skills in assessing damages, estimating repair costs, and negotiating settlements
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational and analytical capabilities
  • Proficient in claims management software and relevant tools

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical agility for frequent lifting, carrying, and climbing; ability to navigate roofs at various heights for inspections
  • A valid driver's license is required

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience managing complex or high-value claims
  • Background in construction
  • Water mitigation inspection experience
  • Familiarity with Xactimate and XactContents
