About the Role:

  • The Claims and Accounting Operations Associate will work under the direction of Accounting and Claims Analysts and Senior Analysts to provide fast and accurate transaction processing services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • At the direction of the Analyst or Senior Analyst, enter claim data, including initial loss notices, loss status updates, and proofs of loss, and forward to applicable reinsurers.
  • At the direction of the Analyst or Senior Analyst, enter financial transactions, including premiums, commissions, and other data, and forward invoices to applicable reinsurers.
  • Using established reports, track the status of reinsurer settlements, periodically follow up for payment according to procedures, document collection efforts, and communicate with Analysts and Senior Analysts on payment.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • At the direction of the Analyst or Senior Analyst, work with various electronic documents to accurately prepare client backup for transmittal to reinsurers, and file documents according to established document retention guidelines.
  • At the direction of the Analyst or Senior Analyst, monitor contractual reporting and payment due dates, and request premiums and accounts from clients to ensure timely receipt.
  • Prepare reporting forms and adjustment calculations for client use as needed.
  • Use reports from various databases to provide information to various internal stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or similar certification in related fields such as Accounting, Data Entry, Risk Management and Insurance, Claims, etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word.
  • Experience in the Insurance or Reinsurance industry a plus.
  • Experience with document management and other systems a plus.
  • Outstanding organizing abilities.
  • Ability to follow procedures with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Solid analytical skills.
  • English Language proficiency.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.
