Job Overview

Position Summary: The Fabrication Supervisor at Piezo Technologies plays a crucial role in guiding a team of professionals by conveying organizational objectives, safety protocols, and timelines. This position involves keeping management informed about team performance, inspiring team members, evaluating their performance, and identifying training requirements. The supervisor also communicates any issues to the Plant Manager and provides teams with feedback on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees daily operations within the Fabrication department, setting priorities and ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Organizes unit and product schedules based on demand from planning or management.
  • Identifies and resolves production flow issues, ensuring adequate labor, materials, equipment, training, and support are available.
  • Applies problem-solving techniques to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborates with internal departments to resolve production challenges promptly.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of production processes and procedures.
  • Develops, monitors, and continuously enhances assigned processes in line with the Quality manual.
  • Conducts inspections of personal and team members' work to ensure compliance with company and customer specifications.
  • Ensures the production team achieves and sustains daily production goals.
  • Mentors and develops direct reports, identifying training needs and coordinating relevant upskilling.
  • Prepares performance documentation, including evaluations and disciplinary actions, in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Upholds a high standard of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Participates in the hiring process for open positions and coordinates with Human Resources for effective onboarding and training of new employees.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment, with CNC/Machining experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with ERP manufacturing software.
  • This role requires compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Candidates must be U.S. persons or protected individuals as defined by ITAR.

  • Proficient in planning, scheduling, and monitoring production cycles.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively lead production activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Capable of analyzing and determining appropriate methods and procedures.
  • Effective problem-solver, using judgment based on experience to address unique challenges.
  • Adept at reading and interpreting company documents, including safety rules and operational procedures.
  • Skilled in prioritizing, organizing, and managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web browsers.
  • Excellent team-building capabilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to drive tasks to completion.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two-year technical degree with 5 years of experience in electronics or manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
Environmental & Physical Requirements:

Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements: The incumbent must be capable of performing essential job functions. Work may occur in an office or manufacturing environment, requiring the ability to spend over 66% of the workday engaged in activities such as standing for extended periods, walking, bending, stooping, or climbing. There may be exposure to dust, and the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds is necessary for 33% to 66% of the time. Weekend work and variable schedules may be required.
