The Fabrication Equipment Specialist plays a crucial role in the operation and upkeep of manufacturing machinery, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and safety protocols. This position involves collaboration with the Team Leader and Production Supervisor to prioritize tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and operate various fabrication machinery, including but not limited to Core-Drills, Trim Saws, Grinders, and CNC Lathes, following established guidelines.
- Conduct product inspections utilizing appropriate measuring tools.
- Oversee workmanship quality to reduce material waste.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of operational processes and protocols.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering for resolutions.
- Document and maintain accurate production records.
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment as necessary.
- Exhibit regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; flexibility to work nights, weekends, and additional hours may be required.
- Complete other assigned tasks as needed.
Experience:
- Preferred: 2 years of experience in setting up and operating fabrication machinery.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting or equivalent.
- CNC experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with tooling and fixtures is preferred.
- This role requires compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); candidates must be U.S. persons or protected individuals as defined by ITAR.
Skills:
- Proficient in using micrometers and calipers.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints.
- General computer proficiency.
- Strong mathematical abilities.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated with a strong team-oriented mindset.
- High attention to detail and quality, with the ability to multitask and remain organized.
- Professional demeanor and conduct.
- Capable of navigating production areas as needed.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferred: AA degree or technical diploma in electromechanical technology or a related field.
The incumbent must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the role. Work may occur in an office or manufacturing environment, typically requiring standing for extended periods, walking, bending, stooping, or climbing. There may be exposure to dust, and the ability to lift or push up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
