Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Compliance and Risk Platform product strategy, aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop a risk and compliance platform product and infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and scalability.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including risk, compliance, engineering, and product teams, to accelerate delivery of risk and compliance initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate process gaps, roadblocks, and inefficiencies that impact risk and compliance platform efforts, ensuring timely advice and consultation.
  • Represent risk and compliance needs at the highest levels across the organization, advocating for and defending decisions associated with the defined strategy and execution plans.
  • Develop and maintain documentation detailing the composition and inner workings of the Compliance Platform, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Participate in all aspects of the development life cycle, from definition through deployment and support, providing timely advice and risk and compliance consultation.
  • Communicate product status, metrics, goals, and performance clearly to internal stakeholders, including impacted teams.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on a suite of KPIs/KRIs for various internal reviews, including Executive Leadership and Board-level reporting.
  • Present to regulators, examiners, and auditors performing reviews of the Compliance program.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in implementing KYC, AML, or Sanctions technologies in scaled companies, including leading programs for Fintech or crypto businesses.
  • 10+ years in executive, managerial, or people leadership capacities, or equivalent entrepreneurship roles.
  • Experience in RegTech or Fintech companies is preferred.
  • Proven experience with regulatory exams and presenting to examiners.
  • Ability to lead, influence, and motivate individuals and teams, holding people accountable and establishing high standards of excellence.
  • Executive presence with an ability to influence and work hands-on with other cross-functional team leaders, such as lawyers, engineers, product managers, data analysts, and operations analysts.
  • Experience leading diverse teams in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Deep experience and knowledge of traditional money laundering and terrorist financing typologies.
  • Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite.
