Job Description

Clemson University is seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor to join its Department of Mechanical Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading an internationally recognized research program in the area of wind turbine technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a research program in wind turbine technology, with a focus on dynamic load assessment, failure prediction, condition monitoring, and advanced control strategies.
  • Contribute to the Department's core graduate and undergraduate teaching missions, including teaching courses in mechanical engineering and wind turbine technology.
  • Build a strong research program that attracts federal, state, and corporate funding, leveraging the state-of-the-art facilities at Clemson University's Restoration Institute.
  • Collaborate with faculty and researchers across the university to advance research in power and energy systems.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Proven track record of research and teaching excellence in wind turbine technology or a related field.
  • Ability to develop and lead a research program that attracts external funding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
