About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer II to join our team at Sierra Nevada Corporation. As a key member of our Agile software development team, you will play a critical role in rapidly providing operational capabilities to the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop software that is heavily used DoD wide and by US Special Operations Forces (SOF) with a high demand for additional features
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions
  • Define software/and or system architecture, design software modules, and produce associated documentation per corporate or customer standards
  • Ensure software standards are met
  • Write and test software modules and integrate with other software and/or hardware components
Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Working experience in C#, Java, or Kotlin
  • Experience designing and developing software
  • Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large teams
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Development experience in C# ASP.NET Core
  • Development experience in the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) Android Infrastructure app
  • Experience in Scala, Python, Go, and C+
