Job Title: Workforce Success Coach

Wu Yee Children's Services is seeking an experienced Workforce Success Coach to join our team. As a Workforce Success Coach, you will work with program participants during their time in the pathway program and up to 6 months after successfully completing the program, ensuring they achieve their educational goals and are retained in their chosen pathway.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality programming that meets educational, administrative, and service delivery goals.
  • Support cohort and apprenticeship progress.
  • Document students' academic information, including test scores, attendance, and tardy records.
  • Establish a rapport with apprentices and serve as a mentor, encouraging them to excel academically while balancing work, family, and personal responsibilities.
  • Teach appropriate classroom behavior, dressing for success, and being responsible, including providing soft skills training.
  • Motivate apprentices towards self-sufficiency by maintaining their education and training, upgrading skills, developing self-confidence, and promoting a positive self-image.
  • Meet regularly with apprentices' instructors, school counselors, and other stakeholders for group and individual support.
  • Participate in department and Wu Yee Children's Services meetings.
  • Establish relationships with internal and external partners to enhance apprentices' on-the-job training experiences, including coordinating regular site visits and strength-based coaching practices.
  • Monitor apprentices' job performance on a weekly basis.
  • Contribute to the development and administration of existing and potential grant-funded initiatives, including grant proposals, quarterly reports, program budgets, and tracking invoices and expenditures.
  • Coordinate and/or provide apprentices' supportive services, including child care, tutoring, transportation, and other resources for evening and weekend classes and events.
  • Be available to work some evenings and weekends when apprenticeship classes are in session.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.
  • 2 years of experience in child development, professional development, family engagement, academic guidance, mentoring, and program design/implementation.
  • Experience working with 2-4 year colleges/universities.
  • Experience serving dual language and immigrant populations, non-traditional college students, first-generation college students, and low-income workers is preferred.
  • Criminal record clearance and health requirements, including a physical exam, TB, and immunizations.
  • Proficiency in various software programs, such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, with bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Regularly required to operate standard office equipment, including personal computers, photocopy machines, and fax machines.
  • Ability to work on a computer for up to 7 hours a day.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods and occasionally stand and walk.
  • Close vision required for computer usage.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb, and lift 5-10 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive salary: $87,150 - $89,232 (Exempt).
