Overview:
The Culinary Service Associate is responsible for executing a range of functions within the kitchen environment. This role adheres to all cafeteria, food, and beverage regulatory standards as specified in the facility's Food Service manual. Responsibilities encompass utility tasks, food preparation, assembly duties, and cafeteria operations. The clientele includes individuals from various age groups, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Access to patient health information is limited.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Prior experience in food service is advantageous.
  • Strong customer service abilities are essential.
  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods is required.
  • Adherence to food and beverage regulations as outlined in the facility manual is necessary.
  • Compliance with all sanitation and safety protocols is expected.
  • Effective communication with all team members is crucial.
Shift: 4:00 PM - 8:30 PM as needed, including weekends.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must have full body mobility to meet the basic FIT test for the position, including standing, bending, stooping, and sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for the majority of the workday.
  • Ability to endure heat and temperature fluctuations while transitioning between refrigerated and freezer areas.
Performance Standards:

Success in this role will be evaluated based on customer feedback, documentation, and direct observation.
  • Adhere to the 'Meal Delivery' protocols as detailed in the facility manual.
  • Follow 'Utility' procedures as outlined in the facility manual.
  • Deliver trays to patients in a friendly and courteous manner, following the established script.
  • Restock supplies as necessary.
  • Serve customers, staff, and patients efficiently and courteously.
  • Document and file temperatures for hot food items for each meal as required.
  • Ensure that items are consistently stocked as needed.
  • Maintain proper sanitation in all areas in accordance with regulations.
  • When assigned, set up the dish machine, checking soap, rinsing solution, and filling tanks.
  • Carefully scrape trays using disposable gloves, ensuring that flatware and paper are not sent through disposal.
  • Ensure accurate setup and stocking of menu items.
  • Keep cafeteria tables, chairs, and food areas clean.
  • Assist with restocking as needed.
  • Promptly report hazards and unclean areas.
  • Assist with cash drawer reconciliation and proper handling of sales when assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
