Overview:
The Culinary Service Associate is responsible for a range of activities within the kitchen environment. This role adheres to all food service and beverage guidelines as specified in the facility's operational manual. Responsibilities include utility tasks, food preparation, assembly duties, and general cafeteria operations. The clientele served includes individuals from various age groups, including infants, children, teenagers, adults, and seniors. Access to patient health information is limited.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Prior experience in food service is advantageous.
  • Strong customer service abilities are essential.
  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods is required.
  • Adherence to food and beverage compliance standards as outlined in the facility manual is necessary.
  • Ensure all sanitation and safety protocols are followed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all team members.
Work Schedule: 4:00 PM - 8:30 PM as needed, including weekends.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must have full range of motion to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, bending, and sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to endure heat and temperature variations when working in refrigerated or freezer areas.
Performance Standards:

Success in this role will be evaluated based on customer feedback, documentation, and observation.
  • Adhere to the 'Meal Delivery' protocols as outlined in the facility manual.
  • Follow the 'Utility' guidelines specified in the facility manual.
  • Deliver meals to patients in a friendly and courteous manner, following established procedures.
  • Restock supplies as necessary.
  • Provide efficient and courteous service to customers, staff, and patients.
  • Document and maintain temperature records for hot food items as required.
  • Ensure items are consistently stocked as needed.
  • Maintain proper sanitation in all areas in accordance with regulations.
  • When assigned, set up dishwashing equipment, ensuring all supplies are adequately filled.
  • Properly dispose of waste while ensuring that utensils and paper products are not sent through disposal.
  • Verify that menu item setups are accurate and adequately stocked.
  • Keep cafeteria tables, chairs, and food areas clean.
  • Assist with restocking as required.
  • Promptly report any hazards or unclean areas.
  • Assist with cash handling and sales reconciliation when assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Supervision:
  • Reports to the Food Service Supervisor and the Director of Food Service.
