Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and manage independent research projects aligned with the laboratory's objectives.
- Lead technical efforts in your area of specialization, ensuring the successful execution of research initiatives.
- Coordinate collaborative research projects, facilitating communication and cooperation among diverse teams and disciplines.
- Innovate and develop new instruments, materials, processes, and scientific methodologies.
- Oversee and mentor laboratory personnel, including scientists, engineers, and technicians, ensuring effective project management and progress evaluation.
- Engage in strategic planning and play a crucial role in securing research funding.
- Review project schedules, budgets, and documentation to ensure successful outcomes.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in optics, ultrasound, imaging, and instrumentation is highly desirable.
- Training in optics/photonics and acoustics.
- Practical knowledge in laser-tissue interaction, ultrasound, and photoacoustic imaging.
- Proficiency with modern laboratory equipment, including solid-state and gas lasers, ultrasound transducers, and computer acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical design automation tools such as SolidWorks.
- Experience with optical design automation applications like Zemax.
