About the School of Physics

The School of Physics at Georgia Tech features a faculty of 50, with a graduate program ranked 21st nationally. Our research spans various domains, including astrophysics and soft matter physics, and we actively engage in interdisciplinary initiatives.

Position Summary

The School of Physics at Georgia Tech invites applications for a Research Scientist I position. Under the guidance of Prof. Daniel Goldman, the selected candidate will conduct laboratory and field studies on various robophysical and robotic systems. Responsibilities include developing complex terrain models for testing, applying findings to inform robotic design, and assisting with journal and grant submissions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct laboratory and field studies on diverse robophysical and robotic systems.
  2. Develop models of complex terrains for testing purposes.
  3. Utilize findings to enhance robotic design for legged and wheeled vehicles.
  4. Assist the Principal Investigator with verbal and written reviews, as well as grant and journal preparation.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess at least a bachelor's degree and demonstrate professional-level capabilities.

  1. Strong communication and networking skills.
  2. Ability to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  3. Research experience in robophysics or legged locomotion.
  4. Ph.D. in a relevant field.
