Job Overview

Position Summary

The Program Specialist is tasked with overseeing the compliance of residents with established guidelines and routines, ensuring the overall safety and security of the facility, and addressing emergency situations as they arise during evening hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and security of the facility at all times.
  • Respond effectively and calmly to emergency situations.
  • Monitor resident activities, including chores and adherence to curfews.
  • Implement boundaries, de-escalate conflicts, and issue warnings when necessary.
  • Document incidents and activities in shift logs.
  • Provide support and assistance to residents.
  • Participate in all required staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision.
  • Manage donations and supervise volunteer efforts.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident and organizational information.
  • Drive the program vehicle to transport clients as needed.
  • Engage with clients to understand and address their needs, both within and outside of job responsibilities.
  • Attend engagement team meetings as required and communicate effectively with clients and staff across departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all program, agency, and funder regulations, as well as internal policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Understanding and sensitivity towards low-income families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to navigate stairs.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Organizational Structure

  • Reports directly to the Program Director.
  • No direct reports.

Working Environment

This position involves direct or incidental interaction with clients served by the organization across various programs. A successful background check is mandatory.
