Key Responsibilities

The Social Service Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the management team and collaborating with Senior Support staff to create a nurturing and engaging atmosphere for residents. The individual will adhere to the policies and procedures set forth by Family & Community Services while striving to uphold exceptional service standards and professional conduct.

Core Duties Include:
  1. Facilitating the smooth operation of the facility and its therapeutic programs.
  2. Managing incoming phone calls and messages efficiently.
  3. Maintaining an organized front office environment.
  4. Tracking and managing office and facility supplies as needed.
  5. Conducting monthly checks on fire extinguishers and performing fire drills.
  6. Logging and monitoring facility refrigeration temperatures as required.
  7. Preparing accommodations for new residents.
  8. Coordinating with vendors for facility maintenance needs.
  9. Updating and maintaining medication logs.
  10. Processing and recording donations received.
  11. Completing check requests as necessary.
  12. Occasionally preparing meals for residents.
  13. Tracking attendance for therapeutic sessions.
  14. Assisting with client inquiries and referrals.
  15. Completing intake paperwork and filing resident documentation as directed by the Case Manager.
  16. Supporting residents in liaising with various agencies for appointments.
  17. Accompanying residents to appointments when required.
  18. Promoting inclusive practices to ensure no resident faces discrimination.
  19. Adapting to diverse work environments, whether as part of a team or independently.
  20. Providing necessary support to enhance residents' quality of life through various activities.
  21. Participating in staff meetings and training sessions as mandated by management.
  22. Building positive relationships with colleagues.
  23. Staying informed about internal fire regulations and emergency procedures to ensure safety standards are met.
  24. Reporting punctually for all assigned shifts.
  25. Adhering to agency policies, COA regulations, and relevant federal and state requirements.
  26. Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Educational Requirements: CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.

Experience Requirements: Previous experience in crisis intervention is preferred.
