Job Summary

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Studies Interventionist/Co-Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our academic support staff, you will provide direct academic support to students in classes like World History and other Humanities or Social Studies content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Academic Intervention
    • Implement evidence-based Tier 2 and 3 academic interventions for identified students experiencing learning loss.
    • Administer high-quality, reliable assessments as needed to assess students' academic progress.
    • Collaborate with Academic and Corporate Work Study teams to teach strategies that build students' positive habits and Executive Function skills.
    • Provide information and supports to families regarding students' academic progress.
  • Co-Teaching and Curriculum Development
    • Co-teach a World History class with established curriculum, utilizing best practices in secondary education.
    • Design and implement curricula to serve a heterogeneous student population diverse in culture, religion, and ability.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Connect with culturally and linguistically diverse students and their families, building strong relationships and a loving, joyful school culture.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to cultivate a positive and inclusive school environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with a major, minor, or comparable credential of content expertise in Social Studies Education, Humanities, or World History.
  • Minimum of 2 years successful high school or middle school teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices in secondary education and competency in designing and implementing curricula.
  • Ability to connect with culturally and linguistically diverse students and their families.
  • Commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, collaborate, and cultivate a loving, joyful school culture.
  • Complete Virtus training, sign a Code of Conduct, and pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • State of Minnesota teachers license.
  • Multilingual skills; Spanish, Somali, or Vietnamese strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in data management and analysis, with familiarity or willingness to learn PowerSchool, Excel, Google sheets, and other technology tools.
  • Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Support Services (MTSS).
