Position Summary
The Behavior Interventionist Lead plays a crucial role in fostering a safe, positive, and respectful school environment. This leadership position is vital for maintaining a supportive and enriching school culture, where high expectations are established for an engaging learning atmosphere. The Behavior Interventionist Lead will ensure effective communication with teachers, administrators, students, and families to reinforce school culture norms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to enhance teachers' classroom management skills.
  • Coordinate and support initiatives related to student attendance, behavior, and crisis intervention.
  • Act as a behavior and engagement coach for educators.
  • Facilitate professional development focused on school culture, restorative practices, and social-emotional support.
  • Utilize knowledge of diverse student and family needs to provide equitable responses.
  • Assist in creating intervention plans and monitoring student progress.
  • Support coordination of meetings related to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
  • Organize student recognition programs.
  • Provide ongoing support structures to empower student growth.
  • Engage with families to foster collaboration.
  • Educate stakeholders on handbook guidelines and ensure adherence.
  • Participate actively in the school's leadership team.
  • Research and share materials to enhance understanding of classroom environments.
  • Set measurable goals for the academic year and integrate them into school culture.
  • Proactively cultivate a positive student culture and address potential disciplinary issues.
  • Analyze data to assess student engagement and classroom management effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED with additional education or certification.
  • 3-5 years of successful teaching experience, particularly with at-risk or behaviorally challenged students.
  • Expertise in function-based intervention planning and behavior change strategies.
  • Proficient in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
  • Strong knowledge of assessment data utilization for instructional planning.
  • Ability to implement research-based instructional strategies effectively.
  • Commitment to ensuring all children can succeed.
  • Familiarity with positive behavioral interventions and supports.
  • Experience in planning and delivering professional development.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Experience in data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with various stakeholders.
  • CPI Certification within six months of hire.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.

Preferred:

  • Experience in historically underserved educational communities.

Compensation
Salary: $33,660+ (commensurate with experience).
