Position Overview
The Project Controls Analyst plays a crucial role in establishing systems and analytical methodologies to oversee project status, necessitating the application of earned value management principles and techniques.
Key Responsibilities

- Develop comprehensive budgets for projects upon contract award, leveraging the final as-sold estimate and standard cost code structure.
- Conduct necessary budget maintenance, including budget transfers and change order budgets.
- Review job costs to ensure accurate cost code assignment for labor, materials, subcontractors, outside services, and equipment.
- Perform labor productivity analysis using earned value measurement tools.
- Diligently track, analyze, and forecast project costs through various analytical tools.
- Utilize analytical systems and methods to monitor project progress and generate weekly and monthly reports for management and/or clients as required.
- Collaborate with the project manager on change orders, informed by report analysis and identification of potential issues.
- Address inquiries from the project manager and senior management stemming from project analysis and status updates, promptly escalating critical issues to the appropriate management personnel.
- Support supervisory roles by preparing, updating, and maintaining forecasts.
- Coordinate with other departments to provide cost data for subcontract change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates, and resolution of potential scheduling conflicts.
- Take ownership of the cost forecast developed in partnership with the Project Manager and support team, ensuring a thorough understanding of the forecast basis and the ability to articulate the rationale during management review meetings.
- Assist accounts receivable with project invoicing.
- Lead the project closeout process upon job completion.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of relevant project controls experience in the construction sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred.
- Proficient in software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other database tools.
- Advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with knowledge of cost accounting and finance.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Familiarity with earned value techniques is essential.
- Good interpersonal communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
