TEAM, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to social services across multiple communities, is seeking candidates for the role of ENERGY ASSISTANT.

Location: Derby (Full-Time, 35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Facilitating the energy assistance program in compliance with relevant regulations and grant requirements.
  2. Conducting client intake by gathering necessary information, including income documentation, and entering data into the system.
  3. Evaluating client eligibility for the program and determining award amounts based on established criteria.
  4. Managing the authorization and processing of vendor and client bills, including reconciling payments with the financial department.
  5. Providing outreach services to clients who are homebound.
  6. Addressing inquiries from clients and vendors regarding the energy assistance program.
  7. Assisting in crisis situations, such as utility shut-offs, and serving as a liaison between clients and utility providers.
  8. Conducting Assurance 16 activities, including MPP and vendor mediation.
  9. Performing general office tasks, including filing, handling calls, and managing faxes.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Energy Assistance or a related field, with a background in Human Services being advantageous.
  • Strong computer proficiency and excellent customer service skills.
  • A detail-oriented approach to work.
