POSITION SUMMARY

The Culinary Team Leader, under the guidance of the Sous Chef, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the kitchen staff. This position aims to enhance restaurant performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction through innovative culinary offerings and exceptional service, while embodying the core values of Fun, Friendly, and Community. The Culinary Team Leader is crucial in delivering Hometown Hospitality and ensuring a vibrant dining experience. This role also emphasizes maintaining the highest standards of food quality and hygiene.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following points outline the essential duties associated with this role:

1. Support the achievement of departmental goals focused on Consistency, Quality, and Urgency.

2. Ensure that Team Members provide Hometown Hospitality and embody the core values of Fun, Friendly, and Community.

3. Uphold departmental standards and guidelines, ensuring efficient operations and proper planning.

4. Enhance the food offerings presented to guests, suggesting improvements that align with market trends and customer preferences.

5. Maintain food quality and consistency in service delivery.

6. Ensure compliance with Safe Food Handling and OSHA regulations.

7. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to guide the culinary team in their tasks.

8. Address guest feedback and concerns promptly and appropriately.

9. Attend pre-shift meetings with a positive demeanor and actively participate in discussions to share relevant information.

10. Implement the 5S Principles to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.

11. Conduct oneself in a gracious and professional manner, fostering a positive image of the company and its values.

12. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Must possess the ability to:


• Accurately perform calculations and apply mathematical functions relevant to business operations.


• Identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw logical conclusions.


• Interpret various technical and mathematical formulas.


• Follow a range of instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic formats.


• Communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members and external contacts.


• Resolve conflicts and issues diplomatically.


• Exhibit leadership and fairness in interactions with guests and Team Members, instilling pride and accountability in staff.


• Be adaptable to work various shifts, including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as required.


• Maintain physical mobility with reasonable accommodations, including the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 21 years old. Comprehensive knowledge of safe food preparation techniques and methods is essential. Extensive experience in menu development, cost management, and kitchen operations is preferred. A minimum of 2 years in a culinary leadership role with progressive supervisory experience is ideal. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, with formal culinary training preferred. Proficiency in Excel and Word is required. Attention to detail and accuracy is critical. Previous customer service experience is advantageous. Confidentiality must be maintained.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the duties outlined, each Team Member is responsible for compliance with laws and regulations:


• Attend mandatory training sessions provided by the casino.


• Obtain necessary licenses.


• Perform duties in accordance with local laws and regulations.


• Ensure minors are not permitted in gambling areas or allowed to consume alcohol or tobacco.


• Be knowledgeable about the relevant ordinances, regulations, and policies affecting the department.


• Be aware of the Property's programs addressing problem gambling.


• Consult with appropriate personnel to maintain effective policies and procedures for compliance.


• Investigate any instances of fraud or violations and report them to management.


• Report any misconduct observed among Team Members.
