POSITION SUMMARY

The Culinary Specialist is essential in food preparation, adhering to established recipes while ensuring safe food handling practices are followed meticulously. The primary focus is on Consistency, Quality, and a Sense of Urgency.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key responsibilities include:

• Attend pre-shift meetings punctually, maintaining a positive demeanor and engaging actively.
• Deliver exceptional hospitality consistently, embodying the core values of Fun, Friendly, and Community.
• Comply with departmental standards and guidelines, including food service, sanitation, OSHA, and Hazcom regulations.
• Practice frequent hand hygiene.
• Complete the Food Service Sanitation course successfully and consistently implement safe food handling techniques.
• Maintain a clean workspace, address spills promptly, and practice safe knife handling.
• Follow standardized recipes closely to ensure food quality and consistency.
• Utilize a digital thermometer to verify accurate food temperatures.
• Label and date all food items not in their original packaging.
• Implement the 5S Principles to ensure items are Sorted, Set in order, Systematically cleaned, Standardized, and Sustained.
• Update Daily Management Systems board with daily lineups, order guides, prep lists, and more.
• Engage graciously with others, reflecting the company's core values.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by department or company management.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Requirements:

• Accurately perform mathematical functions for operational needs.
• Effectively follow instructions, whether written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled.
• Resolve issues with diplomacy and tact.
• Exhibit flexibility to work varied shifts, including holidays and weekends.
• Wear appropriate gloves when handling food items.
• Work in a kitchen environment with fluctuating temperatures.
• Be physically capable of carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lbs. and performing various physical tasks.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is preferred. Knowledge of safe food preparation, kitchen equipment, standard recipes, and attention to detail is essential.
