Associate Director of Laboratory Operations

NYU Langone Health is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead the administrative operations of the Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and managing all aspects of the day-to-day administrative operations, including supervising non-technical administrative support positions, developing and implementing systems for ensuring effective administrative operations, and ensuring all administrative procedures and policies are developed, maintained, and enforced.
Key Responsibilities- Direct supervision of management, supervisory, and line staff, including interviews, evaluations, and personnel counseling.
- Development and implementation of systems for ensuring effective administrative operations, including planning, procedure, and business improvement.
- Contract management and vendor relationships, including coordination and notification of impacts for all labs as it relates to facility moves or planned outages.
- Clerical and office management support, including secretarial supervision, website maintenance, customer support, phone trees, roster management for all labs, and pathologist support related to clinical support.
- Standardization of send-out testing operations for all laboratory locations and management of the NYU Pathology website content maintenance as it relates to laboratory services.
- Participation in project management and business analytics for the department as needed.
- Cost control and fiscal planning to ensure that the most effective method of delivering quality administrative services is implemented.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 5 years in a laboratory with management responsibilities.
- Knowledgeable in all areas of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
- Effective oral, written, communication skills.
- Masters Degree in management, business, public health, laboratory sciences, or a related field.
- 5-7 years experience in a clinical laboratory setting with management responsibilities.
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Licensure.
- ASCP Certification.
