Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Pediatric Neurology Clinic team at Boys Town National Research Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional medical care to patients in an inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and in the clinic setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized medical care to patients in the ambulatory clinic setting, including collection of relevant patient history, physical and/or mental health assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Demonstrate age-specific competencies in the provision of care.
  • Order necessary diagnostic tests relevant to patient condition and utilize results to determine appropriate treatment for the patient.
  • Complete timely, thorough documentation of the patient visit in the electronic medical record.
  • Order pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments indicated in management of the acute illness or health condition.
  • Respond to onsite emergencies and provide prompt, and appropriate care until EMS arrives.
  • Provide relevant education and discharge instructions to the patient/family related to the acute presenting illness or health condition and need for follow-up.
  • Consult with physician and hospitalists as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing with previous clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the State of Nebraska.
  • Experience using an electronic medical record.
  • CPR certification.
