About the Role

The Architectural Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the allocation of architectural personnel to various projects. This role involves assisting in the preparation of proposals, estimating project timelines, and recognizing potential risks and opportunities for future initiatives. The manager will evaluate and supervise the performance of team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentors and develops Architects and Architectural Designers in all relevant processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Directs and supports the team in achieving optimal technical solutions for complex design and client challenges, while maintaining primary accountability for all architectural outputs.
  • Maintains familiarity with all local discipline projects to effectively manage schedules, resource needs, and submission deadlines, ensuring a seamless workflow.
  • Skilled in engaging with and aligning various stakeholders with tact and professionalism.
  • Reviews architectural documentation for thoroughness, feasibility, and coordination, guiding the team to resolve intricate design and client issues.
  • Collaborates with design and technical teams, supporting or leading the creation of design deliverables from initial studies to Construction Documents, including drawings and specifications.
  • Possesses knowledge of Standard Installation Details, client-specific BIM standards, and industry drafting and design protocols.
  • Contributes to the establishment of office standards and operational procedures.
  • Oversees the comprehensive integration of activities related to the design and construction of sophisticated manufacturing facilities.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a Master's degree in Architecture is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Architectural License (AIA) is mandatory.
  • LEED AP with Specialty or GA (Green Associate) is preferred.
  • National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) Certificate is required.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and enjoy the work in a demanding environment.
  • Proven track record of effective architectural office leadership.
  • Exhibits a professional demeanor and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to manage a team of 10 or more staff members.
  • Prior experience with semiconductor and microelectronics facilities is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and directing coordinated activities within a design department.
  • Experience in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary office setting.
  • Experience managing multiple project teams and diverse project types.
  • Experience in a multi-office execution environment is beneficial.
  • Experience with high-hazard (H Occupancy) facility types is a plus.
  • Experience managing teams utilizing Autodesk Building Systems Software is desirable.
  • Experience with Design-Build projects is an advantage.
  • Experience in global teams and/or multi-office project execution is favorable.
  • Experience in driving and managing organizational change is a plus.
