Job Title: Controller

Hotel Monteleone is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with hotel standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee the accounting and financial reporting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance to develop and implement financial strategies to drive hotel growth and profitability.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, including GAAP and hotel-specific accounting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with management, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS) and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Knowledge of financial software, including accounting and budgeting systems.
  • Certifications in accounting or finance, such as CPA or CMA.
