Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate scheduling activities for patients and procedures, ensuring timely referrals and prior authorizations.
- Uphold Kootenai Health's confidentiality and HIPAA standards at all times.
- Serve as the primary communication hub for the clinic, providing vital information regarding patient care and activities.
- Input orders, procedures, and lab tests related to outpatient care.
- Maintain accurate patient demographics and insurance details within scheduling systems.
- Explain basic financial policies related to insurance, including collection of copays and deductibles.
- Process referrals and pre-authorizations as necessary, and manage charge processing.
- Generate reports, oversee multiple projects, and assist in preparing invoices and expense reports as directed by leadership.
- Familiarize yourself with standard practices and procedures within the healthcare field.
- Utilize your experience and judgment to effectively plan and achieve departmental goals.
- Regular attendance is essential to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Competently address the age-specific needs of patients within the assigned unit.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in roles such as Health Unit Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, or Scheduler, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and electronic health record systems is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and move up to 10 lbs.
- Must be able to reach above and below shoulder height.
- Ability to maintain a seated position for extended periods.
- Typical office equipment will be utilized.
- Involves repetitive movements.
