Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM to 5:30 PM, as required.

Compensation: $14.00 per hour

Location: Siloam Springs, AR Employment Type: Part-Time Education Requirement: High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience in early childhood education is advantageous.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The individual in this role will be accountable for both direct and indirect supervision and education of young children. This encompasses the establishment of objectives and goals within care plans. The role involves creating and upholding a nurturing environment that promotes the safety, education, and overall well-being of children.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards for early childhood programs.
  • Develop and maintain an environment that meets ITERS/ECERS standards, aiming for a rating of 4 or higher in designated classrooms.
  • Support the execution of care plans by accurately documenting daily progress and collecting necessary data.
  • Provide constant supervision of children.
  • Collaborate effectively with parents and staff to foster a positive environment.
  • Maintain awareness of children's records to ensure authorized pick-up only.
  • Engage actively with children during activities.
  • Monitor staff/child ratios and report discrepancies immediately.
  • Complete required documentation promptly.
  • Collect and maintain developmental data on assigned children.
  • Keep certifications in Infant/Toddler CPR, First Aid, and Infection Control current through annual training.
  • Ensure accurate timesheet reporting in the payroll system.
  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Complete a minimum of 15 hours of early childhood training annually, with additional requirements for specific classrooms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including supervision during drop-off and pick-up times.
  • Assist with scheduled parent engagement activities.
  • Report any signs of abuse or neglect to a supervisor immediately.
  • Follow the established chain of command for reporting issues.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and licensing requirements.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for candidates with prior experience in early childhood education.


LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to read and understand basic instructions and correspondence. Capable of writing simple messages and effectively communicating in one-on-one and small group settings.


MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret simple data.


PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS:

Ability to address practical problems and interpret various instructions provided in different formats.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands of this position include the ability to use hands for various tasks, communicate effectively, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are also required.
