Key Responsibilities- Assure Quality Standards of Care for Early Childhood programs are met, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- Create and maintain a safe and engaging environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
- Assist with the implementation of plans of care, following established procedures for collecting data and creating daily progress notes.
- Directly supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Work cooperatively with parents and staff members to maintain a positive and productive atmosphere.
- Stay informed of child records and ensure only authorized individuals have access to sensitive information.
- Actively engage with children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including progress notes and DHS/ABC staff/child ratios reports.
- Collect and analyze data on assigned children, using tools such as Work Sampling and Ounce.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development, staying up-to-date on best practices and industry standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including car rider, morning care, and aftercare responsibilities.
- Assist with parent functions and events, promoting a positive relationship between parents and the childcare center.
- Report any signs of abuse or neglect to a supervisor immediately, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); early childhood experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to achieve common goals.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, with the ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the childcare center as needed.
