Compensation: $14.00 per hour

Job Location: Siloam Springs, AR Position Type: Part-Time Education Level: High school diploma or GED preferred, with prior experience in early childhood education being advantageous.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The role involves providing both direct and indirect care and educational support to children. This includes setting and achieving developmental goals outlined in care plans. The individual will foster a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and learning of children.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards for early childhood programs.
  • Maintain an environment that meets ITERS/ECERS standards, aiming for high ratings in designated classrooms.
  • Support the execution of care plans by accurately documenting progress and observations.
  • Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and engagement.
  • Collaborate with parents and staff to cultivate a positive and productive atmosphere.
  • Monitor children's records to guarantee that only authorized individuals are permitted to pick them up.
  • Engage actively with children to support their development.
  • Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios and report any discrepancies immediately.
  • Complete necessary documentation and progress notes promptly.
  • Collect developmental data on assigned children as required.
  • Keep certifications in Infant/Toddler CPR, First Aid, and Infection Control current through annual training.
  • Ensure accurate timesheet submissions in the payroll system.
  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Fulfill a minimum of 15 hours of professional development annually, with additional requirements for specific classrooms.
  • Assist with various duties such as morning care, aftercare, and transportation activities.
  • Engage in parent functions as scheduled.
  • Report any signs of abuse or neglect to a supervisor immediately.
  • Follow the established chain of command for reporting issues.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to childcare operations.
  • Comply with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or GED is required, with prior experience in early childhood settings preferred.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence. Capable of writing basic correspondence and effectively presenting information in small group settings.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret data presented in various formats.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to address practical problems and interpret various types of instructions.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The role requires regular use of hands and arms, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are necessary for the role.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is typically moderate in noise level, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
