Chief Community Corrections Officer

**Job Summary:**
Oakland County, Michigan Government seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Chief Community Corrections Officer. This position is responsible for supervising departmental unit employees and support staff, reviewing reports concerning the status of inmates housed in the Oakland County Jail, and assisting the court in complex bonding considerations and sentencing alternatives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Supervise departmental unit employees and support staff
- Review reports concerning the status of inmates housed in the Oakland County Jail
- Assist the court in complex bonding considerations and sentencing alternatives
- Prepare and present regular reports based on program statistics to appropriate officials
- Respond to and initiate correspondence to a variety of individuals within the criminal justice system
- Participate in developing, implementing, and updating policies and procedures for the consistent operation of the entire division
- Assist with establishing long-range goals and strategies for the division
- Assist the manager in the development of the division budget and in presentations to the Board of Commissioners and related committees
- Assist the manager in the development of the state grant application
- Function as a liaison concerning the various departmental committees and agencies
**Requirements:**
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Public or Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related area
- At least five (5) years of full-time casework or related work experience involving interviewing, investigating, and counseling practices, procedures, and techniques
- Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification
- Successfully complete the six-month probationary period
