Job Summary:

Empower is seeking a skilled Pre-Claim Review Audit Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for auditing components of medical records, performing billing audits, and ensuring accurate billing in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough audits of medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform billing audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the Billing team and Compliance teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Utilize EMR or other systems to monitor the status of billed and unbilled accounts.
  • Escalate issues and problems timely to Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of healthcare billing experience, inclusive of managed care.
  • One (1) year in a leadership role providing training, support, and direction.
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry billing.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule and/or evening hours as needed.
  • Sits most of the time; infrequent to occasional walking or standing.
  • Ability to sit in front of CPU for long periods of time.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
