Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician I to provide technical support for onsite customers across various Point of Sale (POS) platforms. As a key member of our team, you will be accountable for a specific territory and customers, providing industry-leading service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Perform diagnostics down to the root cause component, repair and replace PC components and peripherals, and troubleshoot and repair computer equipment and networks in a POS environment.
  • Customer Communication: Communicate with customers, prioritizing service and expectations, and effectively prioritize and complete service calls in designated areas.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately complete required paperwork and documentation for all work completed, and combine speed and accuracy in completing tasks, including credit card reconciliation, call handling, inventory, vehicle maintenance, returning equipment, and other technician duties as assigned.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in the on-call rotation, working to become the primary on-call resource, and demonstrate proper customer communication techniques, learn processes and procedures to ship and receive equipment and parts to/from remote technicians and offices.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School diploma and/or experience in a computer/technical position, and a valid, active driver's license.
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of the elements, functions, and inter-dependence of all parts of a POS system, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and part of a team environment.

  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and logical problem-solving skills.
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment is essential. The physical demands of this job include walking, bending, lifting, repetitive motion, use of hand tools and test equipment, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
