Engineering Technician I

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician I to join our team at the Onondaga County Water Authority. This role will be responsible for performing technical duties of moderate difficulty in field and office civil engineering work.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in conducting engineering studies and investigations, field surveys, construction, inspections, and maintenance of contracts.
- Evaluate, test, and perform quality control work on construction materials and equipment.
- Perform work involving office reduction and plotting of field survey data, and check engineering and cost calculations.
- Assist in the preparation of plans and specifications, design of engineering projects, and preparation of contracts and their administration.
- Assist in the review of specifications and engineering drawings.
- Assist in the maintenance of office records and the preparation of contractors' payment requisitions.
- Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with an associate degree in Engineering Science or in an engineering technology field.
- Two (2) years of paraprofessional or professional work experience, or its part-time equivalent, in civil engineering.
- Possession of a valid NYS driver's license appropriate to the vehicle(s) being operated.
